In today’s update, Meta introduces new ways to organize and quickly access Facebook groups. These features help admins and members stay up-to-date with their community posts.
Meta introduced channels, which are “focused spaces for people to connect in smaller, more casual places within their communities.” New features include a sidebar to access your favorite Facebook groups more quickly. The sidebar lists your groups as well as the most recent activity you haven’t yet seen in them.
Plus, you can pin groups so they appear first in your lineup – any time you jump back into Facebook, your pinned groups will be listed first and ready for you. Within each Facebook group, you’ll also find a new menu showing different events, stores, and channels to make it easier to discover topics that are important to you.
The update is also useful for Facebook group admins as they can create channels at smaller sizes to foster deeper conversations about specific areas of interest. There are “community chat channels” for users to communicate within Messenger. Community Voice Channels allow members to enter and exit voice chats in real time. Finally, Community Feed Channels provide a way for group members to chat when it’s convenient for them. With this, administrators can customize the group to more specific topics for interested members.
What do you think of the new update to help you organize Facebook groups? Will you be using any of these new tools?
