Indonesia is still a lucrative market for some global smartphone manufacturers to market their devices. As we have seen, there are currently Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo, Huawei, Honor, Nokia, Samsung, and LG competing to market smartphones in Indonesia.
New brands, such as Pocophone, which was built by Xiaomi and the Realme made by OPPO also entered the Indonesian market. Meanwhile, local smartphone manufacturers such as Advan, Evercoss and Polytron do not want to be left behind to compete.
Well! Surprisingly enough , Meizu , a Chinese smartphone manufacturer that will “return” to war in the Indonesian market. The latest smartphone that they are now moving to Indonesia is the Meizu 16 which was first launched in China in August 2018.
Fingerprint on the screen
No kidding, Meizu packed the Meizu 16 with fingerprint scanner support on the screen. Of course this is the second official smartphone that is present in Indonesia with the support of under display fingerprint after the Vivo V11 Prolaunched last September 12 2018.
Meizu also claimed, the fingerprint scanner reading speed on the screen owned by Meizu 16 was 0.25 seconds. Not only that, Meizu also boasted that the scanning success rate reached 99.12 percent.
Then, is the only fingerprint on the screen a security feature of Meizu 16? The answer is no! Meizu 16 is also equipped with other biometric security features, namely face unlock that utilizes front camera support to scan the user’s face.
Thin body, 6 inch Full HD + screen
Want to know the Meizu 16 dimension? This smartphone is packaged by Meizu with a body that is so thin, that its thickness is only 7.3 mm. While the width and length are 73.2 mm and 150.5 mm. The weight of this smartphone is only 152 grams.
Meizu 16 has a 6-inch screen size with FullHD + resolution and 18: 9 aspect ratio. Screen-to-body ratio reaches 89.57 percent and the screen technology adopted is Samsung’s Super AMOLED. The left and right bezel is so thin, only 1.43 mm, even though the top and bottom bezel of the screen still looks thick.
Yes! Unlike most of the latest smartphones mixed with bangs, Meizu packs Meizu 16 without bangs. On the top bezel there is a front camera that is hanging on the right and the earpiece is placed in the middle.
Shifting to the back, Meizu packs this smartphone with a metal body coated with glass so that it looks premium. There is dual-camera support coupled with a ring flash light. On the top side, there is a microphone and on the bottom there is a 3.5mm audio jack port, USB Type-C, microphone and speaker.
Snapdragon 845 support
Not only has an attractive fingerprint scanner support, Meizu 16 also comes with powerful innards. Evidently, Meizu entrusts the Snapdragon 845 as the brain of the Meizu 16. Besides being equipped with the Adreno 630 GPU, this chipset also comes with Qualcomm Hexagon 685 DSP AIE.
Not only offers attractive chipset support, the Meizu 16 also features 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB of internal storage with UFS 2.1 support. As for the power supply, the Meizu 16 comes with a 3,010 mAh battery.
Dual-camera 12 MP + 20 MP
Another selling value offered by Meizu in the Meizu 16 is the embedded camera support. On the dual-camera back which has an attractive resolution, which is 12 MP + 20 MP , with each aperture of f / 1.8 and f / 2.6.
Not only that, the main lens that is pinned is also supported by OIS features. This Chinese smartphone manufacturer complements the existing dual-camera with support for portrait mode and 3x optical zoom. There is also Dual ISP support and Ring 6-LED flash light which is also embedded.
As for the dual-camera sensor that is pinned also does not play games. Meizu really dares to embed Sony’s sensors into the dual-camera installed. Both Sony sensors used are IMX380 and IMX350.
Having attractive dual-camera rear support, Meizu doesn’t forget the front camera. Yes! The Meizu 16 comes with a front camera that has a 20 MP resolution and is equipped with an f / 2.0 aperture. Meizu also complements this front camera with ArcSoft AI Beauty support.
Needless to say, Meizu also equipped all existing cameras with the support of AI artificial intelligence technology. Yes! Existing AI technology is of course driven by the ArcSoft algorithm and the AI engine that is in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.
Flyme 7 based on Android 8 Oreo
Having fingerprints on the screen, reinforced Snapdragon 845 and has good dual-camera support does not make Meizu carelessly load the interface into Meizu 16. This smartphone comes with Flyme 7 based on Android 8 aka Oreo .
Meizu also enhances the more convenient Super mBack navigation capability. Now gesture interaction feels comfortable can be done from the bottom of the screen, as well as the left and right sides of the screen. All of them provide a more concise and efficient sense.
The best support that Meizu has included in this smartphone is mEngine 2.0, Bluetooth 5.0, the latest generation dual speakers, 2 x 2 MIMO technology, and a copper cooling pipe that functions to remove hot air inside the device.
