ASUS earlier this year introduced the Zenfone 5 Series it developed. Interestingly, not only marketing Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 5Q , ASUS also kept its promise to sell Zenfone 5Z on the Indonesian market. Yes! That is the flagship smartphone that is awaited by consumers in the country.

Now, the good news is coming back from ASUS for owners of Zenfone 5, 5Q and 5Z. Yes! Reportedly ASUS promises that the three smartphones in the near future will be able to taste the latest Android operating system, the Android 9 Pie .

The plan, this operating system update will be distributed automatically via firmware-over-the-air (FOTA). It is estimated, Android 9 Pie will stop at ASUS Zenfone 5 in Q1 2019 and stop at ASUS Zenfone 5Z and Zenfone 5Q at the end of January 2019.

Later, Zenfone 5 Series users will automatically get a notification when the Android 9 Pie update is available. Furthermore, users can also directly download the update via the FOTA method to begin the installation process.

When the update has been downloaded, a notification will appear and the user can start updating. The installation process for updating Android 9.0 Pie will take several minutes and the device will restart twice.

Another update method, ASUS also promises to provide manual options for devices that do not get Android 9.0 Pie notification through FOTA. This manual update will be available one week after the update via FOTA is available to the public.

This manual update procedure is presented to ensure all ZenFone 5 Series devices can get Android 9 Pie operating system updates. The manual update procedure is also very easy to do, which can be accessed through the Settings> System> System Updates menu.

The system will check the availability of the update and the user can immediately install. During the installation process, the device will restart twice. Currently, the Android 9 Pie operating system for the ASUS Zenfone 5 Series is under testing.
