"Beyond Access: Librarians as Partners in Research Integrity Librarians’ expertise in information ethics and citation practices directly supports the accuracy, transparency, and attribution standards on which scholarly publishing depends. They help students, faculty, and researchers use AI tools responsibly, asking critical questions about information sources, potential biases, and the proper citation or adaptation of AI-generated content. But these contributions are only possible if librarians are given the institutional recognition to engage in that work. In a world that demands more lifelong learning and is seeing an explosion of new educational credential types and providers, it's exciting that NECHE, the nation's oldest accreditor, is launching this new non-credit recognition process. I was honored to have an opportunity to contribute through the advisory board and would offer this as an important example of our existing quality assurance system adapting to new market dynamics and needs. National Association of Higher Education Systems (NASH), in collaboration with Connecticut State Colleges & Universities (CSCU) and the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE), is excited to launch the Excellence in Teacher Residency Project. This project tackles two pressing challenges facing education today, teacher shortages and retention, while elevating instructional quality. In partnership with Central Connecticut State University, Eastern Connecticut State University, Southern Connecticut State University, Western Connecticut State University, and Connecticut Partner school districts, this initiative focuses on excellence in teacher residency programs, reimagining how teacher preparation can better meet the needs of schools, future educators, and the students they serve. The Excellence in Teacher Residency Project aims to support a shared understanding of exceptional teaching practices through a new platform for pedagogical inquiry. It’s a model of collaboration that aligns system-level innovation with real classroom impact — something public higher education systems are uniquely positioned to lead. This blogpost details the outcomes of our recent "convening" at Montclair State, with a focus on using AI to support the Research Enterprise at Emerging Research Institutions like Chapman University. #CSEDWEEK 2025 and Pathways in Technology Early College High School we are in year 15 and more importantly 10 years removed from our first STEM college graduates from The City University of New York City Tech, CUNY in 2015 and first IBM hires. From Open P-TECH (video below Kevin Guzman Will Saunders) to IBM Skillsbuild. IBM Skillsbuild has partnered with EdTechTeacher and had the great fortune of meeting CEO Tom Driscoll (Fun Fact we both are graduates of Teachers College, Columbia University) https://lnkd.in/e4rECBP9 Access EdTechTeacher's curated, educator-focused IBM SkillsBuild platform below to explore a wide variety of engaging self-paced courses such as "Teaching Artificial Intelligence" and "Teaching Digital Literacy." I recently met Tom at "Careers in Age of AI" which was hosted by Jennifer Lucia at One Madison the IBM flagship. Rachel Rosen, MDRC "We believe that CTE leaders will be really interested in the positive impact that we're seeing for students who are participating in P-TECH. P-TECH 9-14 students signed up for dual enrollment programs at higher rates, attempting and earning more college credits than the comparison group students by the end of four years in high school". MDRC October 2023 P-TECH 9-14 Pathways to Success Implementation, Impact, and Cost Findings from the New York City P-TECH 9-14 Schools Evaluation • An evaluation by MDRC, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, examined the first seven P-TECH 9-14 schools in New York City, following students for seven years after they began ninth grade. Rashid Ferrod Davis (member of the design team and founding principal of P-TECH Brooklyn) was among the principals of these seven schools. Two of my former assistant principals are now P-TECH principals in two of the seven schools (2025). New findings in this report indicate that the P-TECH model increased students' postsecondary degree completion, particularly for male students, and boosted internship and dual enrollment rates, even during the pandemic. "By the end of the first year of postsecondary education, 2.6 percent of female and 1.8 percent of male P-TECH 9-14 students had earned degrees, compared with virtually no students from the comparison group, of either gender. These impacts for both genders are statistically significant".
