Apple today released Logic Pro 11.1 for Mac and Logic Pro 2.1 for iPad, adding new features for songwriting, production and mixing. The new Quantec Room Simulator plug-in uses Quantec founder Wolfgang Buchleitner’s original algorithms and coding, allowing users to add natural acoustic spaces to their music using Quantec QRS, or choose Quantec Yardstick to more accurately model acoustic spaces.
Plug-in search allows Final Cut Pro users to find and add any plug-in from the plug-in menu without having to click on a channel strip to insert it. Users can search by category, company name, or part of the plug-in name.
There’s a new modular melodic soundback, including hundreds of loops made from patchable hardware synths and a collection of carefully designed Alchemy synth patches.
In addition to these features, the application also includes several enhancements.
- Drag channel strips to organize mixer layout
- Send your mix directly to Voice Memos and preview on iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch
- Hold down the command key and click on any plug-in slot to quickly delete plug-ins.
- Use menu search to quickly configure inputs, outputs, sidechain sources or bus routing
- Use keyboard commands to move the marquee selection in all directions for faster editing
Apple has also released a new version of Logic Remote with stability improvements and bug fixes.
