Halo Infinite’s ongoing desynchronization issues won’t be fixed any time soon, with developer 343 Industries prioritizing other fixes and improvements.
Desync Halo Infinite has been plagued by issues since launch, causing enemy players, vehicles, and weapons to occasionally stumble across maps and strikes sometimes failing to score. Although the network issue does not break the game, it especially disrupts the multiplayer melee battles.
But it doesn’t look like a desynchronization fix is coming any time soon. Reply to a post on Reddit (Opens in a new tab) Sandbox chief designer Brian Berryhill explained in a comment that the melee collisions highlighted are still unreliable. (Opens in a new tab) Why players are still facing bugs.
“The developers who will be working on these fixes are dedicated to infinite other work,” Berrihill said. “Their work has had some indirect benefits to our UCN.” [networking] The solution, especially about the motors (actuators, vehicles, etc.) These developers will be back in the Sandbox soon (hopefully).”
Although a wholesale de-sync fix may not be in development, Berryhill went on to say that it “was our top priority for the fixes”.

Desync has been a sticking point among Halo Infinite fans, who have consistently expressed their frustration with this issue since the game’s launch late last year. A particularly terrible example (Opens in a new tab) The bug made waves on the Halo Infinite subreddit several months ago, which led to Berryhill acknowledging the problem. At the time, they said the networking team at Infinite was working on the issue in its latest interiors.
This decision did not come out as quickly as Berryhill or Infinite players would have liked. For a live-service title that sells itself as pushing the Halo brand forward and harkens back to the nostalgic days of competitive multiplayer, a consistent mistake is enough to spoil players’ perception of the game.

The idea that it’s not a significant enough bug to warrant the current developer’s interest has particularly rubbed some fans the wrong way. At least they can hope for Halo Infinite’s next co-op mode to take shape.
