iPhone 14, Apple Watch Series 8, and more

In less than two months, Apple will likely hold its traditional event in September. If the company follows the trend, this will be the most important keyword of the year. While there are many products that Apple could be ready for, there are two that people expect the most, the iPhone 14 series and the Apple Watch Series 8. Here’s what Apple could announce at its September event.

iPhone 14 at Apple September event

The iPhone 14 series will be the star of Apple’s event in September. With the introduction of four new models, expect a lot of hype from the new iPhone 14 Plus/Max. While the regular models won’t have much to differentiate them from the current generation iPhone 13, the larger model would be a nice addition.

At Apple September event, expect big changes for the iPhone 14 Pro, as I mentioned earlier 9to5Mac. New design, better processor and huge improvements in the camera aspect. The iPhone 14 series is probably one of Apple’s biggest releases in years.

Three new Apple Watches are coming

BloombergMark Gorman has reported that Apple will introduce three new Apple Watch models in 2022, which he described as the most significant update to the Watch in years.

These watches could be unveiled at Apple’s September event. At least the Apple Watch Series 8 will get a new body temperature sensor and better battery life. It is likely that the Apple Watch SE will be updated, while Apple is also preparing to release a rugged “Pro” version of the current watch with a different design and a premium finish.

AirPods Pro 2 at Apple’s September event

Recall AirPods Pro

Aside from the iPhone 14 series and new Apple Watch models, Apple could introduce at its September event the new AirPods Pro 2.

With a design similar to the current generation, 9to5Mac Sources confirm that the next AirPods Pro model – codenamed B698 – will have the next version of the H1 chip, Apple’s own sound processor. Additionally, references to LC3 codec support on the AirPods Max beta firmware suggest that AirPods Pro 2 may be the first to add Bluetooth 5.2 support.

This codec will provide more stability and efficiency for your wireless earbuds. Not only that, but this new standard will help AirPods Pro 2 improve the sound quality of voice calls and songs while supporting a higher bitrate. Although the Bluetooth Low Energy codec and the LC3 don’t promise “lossless Bluetooth”, they will definitely improve the sound quality a lot.

Apple mixed reality headset

Rumors about the Apple Mixed Reality Headset escalated last year. During Apple’s event in September, the company could revive Steve Jobs’ “One More Thing” phrase to impress the upcoming mixed reality glasses company.

Currently, rumors expect it to be revealed late this year and go on sale in 2023. Apple’s September event might be the perfect time for Apple to publicly announce its entry into a new market.

For example, early this year the company quipped that it was working on a new Mac Pro without further details.

New Macs and iPads may come a little later

Apple September event

Apple is also expected to introduce several new Macs and at least two iPads in 2022. While the company revealed a new MacBook Pro in October, Apple could prepare another keynote a month later to bring new Macs and iPads.

In today’s newsletter, BloombergApple’s Mark Gorman said it will have new mini Macs and a high-end MacBook Pro later this year. 9to5Mac Sources have already confirmed that Apple is working on the base 10th generation iPad and the new iPad Pro.

When will Apple hold its September event?

Apple usually holds its events on Tuesdays. If the company follows the trend of years past, the keynote may be presented on September 13, since it is the second Tuesday of the month.

While nothing has been confirmed — and no rumors about a possible date — it makes sense that this would be the perfect time for the company to introduce the iPhone 14, Apple Watch Series 8, and more.

Since WWDC 2022 had a hybrid experience, Apple may finally be preparing for its first in-person event of the year for the release of the iPhone 14.
