Following a preview at CES in Las Vegas, we had the chance to try out the LG Gram laptop line, which includes the new 14-, 15-, 16-, and 17-inch models as well as the LG Gram Pro and LG Gram 2in1.
We had a chance to try out the LG gram 2in1: Touch and convertibleavailable in 14-inch and 16-inch versions (14T90S and 16T90SP).
model 14T90S There is a screen from 14“, with a slim and ultra-light design, 1.2 kg pesosone schemo touch and a 360 degree adjustable zipper It turns your laptop into a tablet. It’s a convertible, but ultra-light (1.2 kg), with a simple yet elegant design.
A special feature of these laptops is that they can also use a stylus (available as standard), which is useful in a variety of situations. The 14-inch model (the subject of this test) has a WUXGA (1920×1200) resolution IPS display with a 60Hz refresh rate, while the 16-inch model has a WQXGA (2560×1600) IPS display with a 60Hz refresh rate. But let’s start from the beginning…
Packaging contents and specifications
Inside the packaging (a cardboard box) we find: the actual laptop (dimensions 314×219.5×16.2m, weight 1250 grams), USB-C charger, stylus and USB-C to HDMI cable (for connection monitor, TV or projector). The display (16:10 IPS Touch) uses Gorilla Glass, has 350nit brightness, anti-glare treatment on the surface, uses 16:10 format, contrast ratio 1200:1, WUXGA 1920×1200 resolution, and supports 99% DCI-P3 color gamut. The chassis is made of magnesium alloy; the machine looks solid (it doesn’t look like the usual “plastic” laptops) and the color is nice (“Obsidian Black”).
The processor is a Intel Core Ultra5 125H (14 cores total: 4 high-performance cores + 8 high-efficiency cores + 2 low-power high-efficiency cores), frequency up to 4.5 GHz or up to 3.6 GHz when using high-efficiency cores). This processor is a mid-range chip in the Meteor Lake series, which debuted in December 2023, with a 7-core Arc GPU clock frequency of 2.20GHz. This processor supports some AI functions of OpenVINO, WindowsML and ONNX RT frameworks.
memory is 16GB DDR5 (dual channel, 6400MHz)el’SSD unitda 512GB It’s NVMe M.2(2280), expandable to 2TB (1TB + 1TB configuration).
In terms of links, we have: Bluetooth 5.3 e WiFi-6E AX211 (WiFi 6E); there is also a full HD (1080p) infrared web camera with dual microphones and supports Windows Hello login. For audio we have 2 2W stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. There Battery is 82 watt hours. As doors we have: a door HDMI, Thanks to Thunderbolt 4, USB-A e Micro SD card. LED indicators identify power on, DC-in (power connection), Caps Lock, and access to the webcam.
The internal cooling system uses a classic fan, which has proven to be very good at preventing overheating, even under pressure.
The machine is MIL-STD-810H certified (30 environmental stress tests for testing the robustness of tablets and laptops) and comes with Windows 10 Home and pre-installed software for Dolby Atmos management, pen functionality etc. (First of all: gram link can connect up to 10 devices of any operating system at the same time, including iOS and Android, and can be used to freely share photos, videos and files.
As mentioned before, one of the features of the LG Gram 2 in 1 is that it is “convertible”: in other words, the display can be rotated 360° until it takes on the look of a tablet.
The package also contains a stylus, Very useful for performing precise typing tasks that are difficult to perform with fingers. The pen has integrated buttons that can be used along the path of the mouse (there are left and right buttons), and “includes” single-touch, double-touch, and dragging on the surface (moving while pressed). The pen integrates a 1.5V micro stylus battery (which can be removed by unscrewing the pen cap). It’s not the best for drawing (we had trouble keeping our wrists on the monitor, but it’s useful in many situations and fun to use).
Keyboard and trackpad
The keys are all standard size (except the Shift and Enter keys on the left, which are not “L” shaped but slightly smaller than the Shift on the right) and feel good when typing. The trackpad (very accurate, but not MacBook grade) is oddly misaligned with the space bar, but centered relative to the horizontal “palm rest” (the visual impression is that it’s not centered, but that’s not the case).
Webcam, microphone
The colors displayed by the webcam are pretty good (the quality is not great, the colors are a bit saturated), but the sharpness is acceptable. As mentioned, Windows Hello is supported (useful for any login via facial recognition). The microphone captures sound discreetly as well, eliminating some environmental effects. Speaking of sound, the speaker reproduction is a bit “flat” but overall pleasant; the volume isn’t particularly loud, but it’s good for a laptop in this series.
Battery
The 72Wh battery ensures good battery life on a single charge. Obviously, this depends on the usage environment, but using word processing apps, spreadsheets, presentations, streaming movies, and audio, we managed to get through a full day of work without needing a charger. By the way, the latter is 65W; the end connected to the computer is USB-C, and the termination plug is shuko, which is already suitable for this type of socket.
in conclusion
LG GRAM 14T90S is definitely a good product. Solid, elegant, and complete (software as well). Common operations such as navigation, word processing, working with spreadsheets, viewing streaming content, etc. pose no difficulty to the machine (it is more than adequate for these purposes).
The situation is different if you’re looking for a laptop for video editing or working with graphics-heavy applications (in which case, it’s better to turn to the Intel Core i7-equipped variant).
The price/performance ratio is excellent, and the 2-in-1 configuration with pen justifies the cost. This machine is great for travelers (it’s lightweight and easy to carry), and it’s worth it if you’re looking for a laptop that can be converted into a notepad with stylus support if the need arises.

The price is interesting: the list price is 1199 euros, but at the time of writing it can be purchased directly on the manufacturer’s website €1099,00. The 14Z90S model without touch functionality and Ultra 7 processor is available on Amazon.
