Apple’s next-generation 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with the M2 Pro and M2 Max chipsets are “in development and well-tested,” and there’s still a chance of a laptop release later this year, according to Apple. BloombergMark Gorman.

In his “Power On” newsletter today, Gurman said that Apple plans to launch new MacBook Pro models “early this fall,” but as usual, he said there is an opportunity to delay the timeframe due to supply chain disruptions or others. Factors. The notebook’s mass production will begin in the last quarter, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

While some reports have indicated that the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips may be Apple’s first 3nm chips, it seems increasingly likely that the chips will remain at 5nm. The chips will still have performance improvements over the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips in the current 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, as Apple is expected to move from TSMC’s standard 5nm “N5” process to the more advanced 5nm process known as “N5P” .

Like the standard M2 chip, the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips are also likely to have more GPU cores and RAM compared to their M1 equivalents.

There were no rumors of any major design changes for the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, which isn’t surprising given the laptops launched with an all-new design in October 2021. The redesign included re-ports like MagSafe and HDMI, while a notch was added to the The screen is for an upgraded 1080p camera and thinner bezels.

Rumors suggest that a new Mac mini with the M2 Pro chip may be launched this year as well, along with a new Mac Pro tower with the M2 Ultra and “M2 Extreme” chipset.
