Plugable recently launched its new software USB-C voltage and current measurement For high-powered devices that provide the ability to monitor power and charge up to 240W. third generation USBC-VAMETER3 The USB-C adapter is now available for purchase at $29.95 or £35.95 and offers a built-in display that shows the direction of voltage, current, wattage and current flow.
Connect the adapter inline between a USB-C host system such as a laptop, tablet, or cell phone and a charger for use as a USB voltage meter or power consumption meter. All readings are displayed on a brighter, easier-to-read OLED display, and the Plugable has also included a new directional button that allows you to flip the screen with a single click depending on your cable connection.
USB-C Power Charge Monitor
– Support 4.5-50V, 50mA-6.5A operating range
USB-PD R3.1 support extended power range (101W-240W)
Supports all USB data (from 1.1 to 3.1 Gen 2)
“For a multimeter, the Pluggable USB-C Voltage and Voltage Tester (USBC-VAMETER3) packs in a lot of useful features in a small, sturdy package. About the size of a USB flash drive, this two-way USB tester allows full USB data traversal while monitoring USB-C power and charging, voltage and current measurement, and even visualization of the directional flow of electrical current — all in real time.”
This telemeter is transparent – it must not interfere with USB data (1.1 through 3.1 Gen 2), USB-C alternative video, or USB-C charging. The meter can be used in parallel with USB-C docking stations, chargers, and other USB-C accessories. Can The meter achieves this without interfering with normal USB-C operation as it only taps the power (VBUS) and ground connections to measure values and leaves the data lines intact.”
At a Glance – The USB C Tester monitors USB-C power and charges up to 240W. Measure voltage and current. Visualize the directional flow of electric current. The updated OLED screen is brighter and easier to read. The new directional button lets you flip the screen 180 degrees
Bi-Directional – The USB power meter can be connected in any direction, allowing a full USB Extended Power Range (EPR) voltage range of 5 to 48V (4.5V – 50V, 50mA – 6.5A operating range)
Extensive USB Support – Used as a measure of data quality and power, the device allows USB data pass-through, USB-C Alt Mode video, and USB-C charging. Use a USB-C test device with docking stations, chargers, USB-C accessories, etc. Not compatible with Thunderbolt 3 devices
Small and Tough – Small enough to go anywhere you need a USB C potentiometer. Even fits most phones and tablets without removing the protective case. Strong USB-C connections ensure that it is powerful enough to serve as a USB C power test.
