The new Porsche 911 Sport Classic was officially announced in April, and now Porsche is showing the car at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The 911 Sport Classic takes the Goodwood Hill Climb in the video below, and it’s one of the coolest 911s ever released.
As with the first 997 generation of the 911 Sport Classic launched in 2009, designers were inspired by the early Porsche 356’s faux gray paint job when choosing exclusive paint finishes for the new limited-edition model. “The new 911 Sport Classic is the first car to feature the Sport Gray Metallic paintwork,” says Michael Mauer, Vice President of Style Porsche. “Grey is never boring, always a statement and always cool.” As an alternative to the exclusive Gray Metallic paint, the new 911 Sport Classic is also available in Steel Black, Metallic Blue, Metallic Blue or Metallic Blue.3 The double lines drawn on the hood, roof and rear spoiler in light gray emphasize the car’s sporty design.
The powertrain concept is equally unique: the 3.7L flat-top twin-turbo engine (911 Sport Classic: fuel consumption* (WLTP) 12.6 l/100 km, CO2 emissions* combined (WLTP) 285 g/km, fuel consumption* combined (NEDC) 12.8 l/100 km, CO2 emissions* combined (NEDC) 292 g/km) puts 405 kW (550 hp) on the road via the rear wheels only. Combined with a seven-speed manual gearbox, the new 911 Sport Classic is the most powerful mechanical 911 available today.
