Sony is partnering with Backbone to create a portable PlayStation compatible console for iPhone called Backbone One – PlayStation Edition. With the buttons for PlayStation and an analog Xbox arrangement, the hardware can be tuned to fit the iPhone model of your choice.
Players can stream titles from PS4 and PS5 to iPhone through Remote Play, Sony’s mobile app. Backbone One – PlayStation Edition costs $99.99 and is a more expensive way to play PlayStation games through Remote Play on your iPhone instead of using a DualSense controller. However, unlike the DualSense controller, the Backbone One – PlayStation version does not have a charger because it takes power from the iPhone.
according to the edge, the Backbone One – The PlayStation Edition pairs with games on Apple Arcade, Xbox Game Pass, and Stadia, but the button prompts likely won’t match the console. If you tend to patronize these platforms more, you might want to take a look at a version that’s more like a Nintendo Switch than the Backbone One for the same price.
The Backbone One – PlayStation Edition is now available in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Additionally, Sony says that more countries will follow in the future.
What do you think of Backbone One – PlayStation Edition? Do you buy one?
