Android 13 may have just been released a couple of days ago for Pixel smartphones, but it looks like it won’t be long before other brands release the update. Today, Xiaomi launched the beta version of Android 13.
MIUI 13 was announced on the Xiaomi community website, it is based on Android 13 and is now available in beta for two smartphones.
Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro owners will be able to test the “limited” beta on global devices, with the update having build number V13.0.4.0.TLCMIXM for Xiaomi 12 and V13.0.4.0.TLBMIXM for 12 Pro. The update weighs more than 4 GB. Xiaomi also warns users that they should expect “overheating and other performance issues” with the beta update.
Unfortunately, this is a beta, first-come, first-served program. on me TwitterXiaomi said only 200 users will be granted access during the “first wave”. These users will be part of the Mi Pilot beta testing program, and this version is considered “beta stable”.
What’s new in MIUI 13? Xiaomi doesn’t provide an insight into this particular post, but the company has a website set up to tease the new release. Xiaomi says its take on Android 13 is “fine-tuned on every level” with improvements to background processes. Efficiency in this area is said to have improved by 40%.
