Shuttle introduced the new XPC Barebone SW580R8 PC this week based on the Intel W580 chipset as well as 10th and 11th generation Intel Core processors. The XPC SW580R8 also supports Intel Xeon W series processors making the mini PC ideal for VFX, 3D rendering, complex CAD and AI development, and edge management if desired.
Equipped with four network ports, two of which have a bandwidth of 2.5 Gb and two with a capacity of 1 Gb and are capable of accepting up to 128 GB of memory, the compact and powerful PC measures only 33.2 x 21.5 x 19.0 cm and features two PCI-Express slots x 16-4.0 and x 4-3.0. wireless units. “This model combines functionality and features that have never been seen like this in our range before,” explains Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing and PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH. “The SW580R8’s high power density is particularly impressive.”
For the first time in a Shuttle mini PC, you can choose debugging ECC RAM. Spread over four slots, with a maximum of 128GB possible. The other first is a total of four network ports, two of them with 2.5Gb bandwidth and two with 1Gbit capacity, which support networking Discrete, provides failover and load balancing. One port is vPro-compatible and AMT-compliant, and in combination with a suitable processor, enables convenient remote management, even when the computer is turned off.”
The R8’s pure aluminum chassis can accommodate four 3.5″ SATA hard drives. The separate cooling system, which produces a constant air flow, prevents any heat build-up between the data carriers. Then there are two M.2-2280 slots on the motherboard that can be used for NVMe SSDs with PCIe- x 4-4.0 and PCIe- x 4-3.0 thus adding up to six drives.”
